The colonisation by healthy bacteria of a child’s body and mainly the gut is necessary for its healthy growth and development. In an ideal case, the main source of these symbiotic microorganisms in the breastmilk of a healthy mother. An impairment of microbial colonisation in the early stages of life can lead to the development of allergies or autoimmune disorders (e.g. Crohn’s disease or ulterosa colitis). Dysbiosis – an impairment of gut microbiota is connected with a great number of health problems such as obesity, diabetes, some types of cancer, or even with mental disorders like depression.
We diagnose: Recent modern molecular biological methods called next-generation sequencing have enabled us an insight into the incredible universe of not-so-well explore gut microbiome. Therefore, a completely new chapter in medicine has been opened.
We help: The composition of a gut microbiome, depending on severity, can be regulated in several ways. The easiest one is a diet change. The gut microbiome can also be modified by prebiotics and probiotics. In severe cases, or if removing a specific pathogen, antibiotics, antimycotics, antiparasitics or other medication can be utilised.
We preventively store: The new trend is building a “microbiome bank” for preventive storage of one’s healthy microbiome sample for future use in repairing a weakened or impaired microbial colony.
